Oh dear lord.
Not one to let her daughter’s recent fashion fiasco get in her way of hogging the spotlight, Dina Lohan is launching her own line of shoes called — wait for it — “Shoe-han.”
Yeah, Shoe-han. I kid you not.
Dina is aiming to launch the new line for Long Island-based retailer Love My Shoes in time for Mother’s Day 2010. Just what moms everywhere have always wanted: shoes designed by a woman who has probably never even seen a sewing machine before and made by 100% sweatshop labor.
Wee! I get all misty-eyed just thinking about the look of joy on my mom’s face when she opens the gift box …
The line will include 25-35 stylish flats, sexy pumps and funky footwear. All the shoes will cost less than $100.
“These shoes are affordable, which is really important in this economy,” Lohan said. “It’s tough for everybody - even us.”
So why Dina Lohan?
“She’s definitely got a good eye and she’s got it together,” says Love My Shoes founder and president Robert Yeganeh. “She may not be followed as a fashionista but if the shoes are designed right and priced under $100…they will sell.”
Who knows, maybe the shoes will end up on the runway at Ungaro, if Lindsay hasn’t been fired from her artistic advisor gig by next fall.
That’s what, at least 10, 15 pairs right there.

Your shopping calendar is facing a huge shake-up.
Just as you’re trying to choose between booties, tall boots or thigh highs, Stuart Weitzman is previewing its spring 2010 shoe and handbag collection at trunk shows from coast to coast.
Well, what better way to get through the slushy season than with a pair of strappy sandals at-the- ready for the first rays of warmth and a toe-baring pedicure?
And while we don’t really need an excuse to buy another pair of shoes, the fact that customers will have the chance to pre-order styles from the collection in a range of unique colors and materials is surely enough to twist any fashionista’s arm.
Or should that be foot?

Ahhh, there’s nothing like that new shoe smell!
Except maybe a fragrance by a shoe designer.
Luxury shoe maker Jimmy Choo is now stepping into fragrances. The company has inked a 12-year deal with fragrance maker Inter Parfums Inc to launch a Jimmy Choo scent for women. Like Choo’s shoes, the scents will be highly exclusive, sold in just 2,000 to 3,000 locations worldwide.
Says Tamara Mellon, Choo Founder and President, “It has always been my vision to fully accessorize the woman, and fragrance is an integral part of the modern wardrobe. Through our association with Inter Parfums, I look forward to bringing this important aspect of my vision to life.”
“I hope it will attract many more people to the Jimmy Choo concept, especially people who would like to own a piece of the Jimmy Choo world but who can’t necessarily spend the minimum $500, which today is the basic [entry price] for a Jimmy Choo product.”
If they really want to capture the essence of Jimmy Choo, I suggest the smell of Italian leather and melting plastic credit cards!

Who says you have to be a size-0 to wear this season’s tall boots?
A childhood of playing soccer, a more zaftig figure than most models, a tall woman with proportional appendages, whatever the reason, purchasing boots when you have larger legs can be very frustrating.
Nothing should keep you from a pair of great boots - especially not your body type! Fortunately, designers are creating new cuts of stretch boot and lace up boots that are better fitting for women with wider calves and bigger legs overall.
Most tall boots in stores have a 14” or 15” circumference of the widest part of the boot shaft. Before you go shopping, take a tape measure to the widest part of your calf. You can buy boots that are a half-inch smaller than your measurement because leather stretches and many styles have elastic gussets.
Many chain brands like Naturalizer, Eddie Bauer, Ann Taylor Loft and J. Crew offer extended-calf variations of their popular styles. Do check the size, for many brands consider larger calves to only be a half to full inch larger. This may be all you need for comfort, or you may require more space.
Luckily, the fashion world is listening to our pleas for stylish boots for wider calves. Check out these stylish finds that’ll have you saying, “Let it snow!”

If you thought Rene Caovilla shoes were expensive, hold onto your credit card …
Known for the most expensive champagne in the world, luxury goods maker Leon Verres also has a taste for expensive shoes.
Leon Verres has introduced a luxury shoe range made of the finest materials like real gold, sparkling diamonds and sapphires with a princely price tag from $13,400 to $145,000. Recession, what recession?
Each shoe also comes with the Leon Verres name on the inner sole in real platinum or gold. A bodyguard to protect them from theft or touching the pavement, not included.
Check out the designs after the jump to see if they’re intoxicating or just leave you flat …

Remember those sneakers you wore as a kid that lit up when you walked?
Well, Jimmy Choo has grown up the design with a platform whose heel apparently lights up when you walk. Somehow, I doubt a low-cost luxe replica will find their way into JC’s H&M collection . . .
Seen at a special editor’s preview during Milan Fashion Week, the eagle eyed shoe-spotter declared the heels to be “major.” From its sexy cage ankle, MASSIVE heel and the overall shape–I’d have to agree, even if the concept of a light-up heel is a tad over-the-top. Though they’d probably be handy when trying to find your friends in a dark club.
Twenty bucks says Lady Gaga already has her hands on a pair.
What do you think of Jimmy Choo’s latest: You light up my life or lights out?

You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
See that girl, watch that scene, dig in the dancing queen
Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for the place to go
Where they play the right music, getting in the swing
You come in to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy
Night is young and the music’s high
With a bit of rock music, everything is fine
You’re in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance…
Don’t these sparkly Michael by Michael Kors cuffed booties just SCREAM for a disco ball moment?
There’ll be no waiting behind the velvet rope in these scene-stealers. They have all the elements — great platform heel, cool embellishment, and an of-the-instant biker chic silhouette — to be pitch-perfect when paired with some tights, skinny legs or even (god forbid) leggings.

And best of all, they’ve been discounted from $197.99 to a mere $48.99 at Shoesteal.com (today only!).
Now turn up the music and dance!
