Heels Are A Girl's Best Friend

It’s still hot and steamy in the shade but I’m already craving cashmere and a hot mug of cocoa.

Why?  Because footwear fashions for fall are already making their tempting debuts.

You’ll be wishing for falling temperatures too after checking out this exclusive sneak peek at several new styles from the Stuart Weitzman Fall/Winter 2009 Collection.

Highlights include the thigh high boot (the “it” style of the season) seen on the Fall runways from everyone from Louis Vuitton, Rodarte and Prada.  In addition, there’s a retro nod with crepe wedges and good girl gone edgy-glam in needlepoint thin heels.

Pants might be over as we know it. Thigh-high boots have emerged as the hot shoe for fall, landing so far up the leg they doubled as leg warmers. Is this designers’ collective attempt to save the world from the pantless ladies everywhere (Lady Gaga and Lindsay Lohan)?  So dust off the Thigh Master–it’s about to get leggy.

It’s all about crepe.   Crepe bottoms add a fresh design element to SW’s over-the-knee boot, button-hole dress pump and shearling boot.

The skinny heel adds a dramatic new look to the ankle boot and gladiator evening platform.

All fall/winter styles will be available at the official SW site in mid-August with select styles available in Stuart Weitzman boutiques only.
