Brand Spotlight: L.A.M.B. Shoes

Gwen StefaniWhen pop star Gwen Stefani first launched L.A.M.B. Shoes in 2004, I dismissed the brand – with the teensiest sneer – as just another celebrity vanity project. But, on closer inspection (several years later), I realize I was wrong. In fact, I think L.A.M.B. Shoes are quite fantastic!

Stefani is more fashion aware than your average stylist-beholden celebrity. In addition to her stunning personal style, she comes from a long line of seamstresses, and actually used to make the clothes she wore on stage.

L.A.M.B. ShoesWorking with a team of design and manufacturing professionals, she’s applied her sexy and sophisticated  look to an extensive line of shoes – creating fantastic footwear that is edgy enough to be interesting, without being so outrageous as to be completely impractical.

Some fun facts about L.A.M.B. shoes:

  • L.A.M.B. ShoesYes, the line includes lots of high heels, but I was surprised to see that there are also (a few) flats! I don’t picture Stefani herself wearing flats, so I guess I didn’t associate the brand with them. Wrong again.
  • L.A.M.B. is one of the most successful celebrity lines out there – leaving Paris Hilton and Jennifer Lopez in the dust.
  • L.A.M.B. ShoesL.A.M.B. Shoes is named after her first album Love. Angel. Music. Baby.
  • In 2005, Stefani launched a second shoe and fashion line – Harajuku Lovers – inspired by the Harajuku area of Tokyo.
  • Stefani hasn’t just licensed her name – she actually takes an active role in the design of the shoes.

So, if you’re like me and are knee-jerk dismissive of celebrity shoe lines, I encourage you to take a look at L.A.M.B. Shoes and Harajuku Lovers Shoes – I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised, especially because some styles are even on sale, up to 60% off.
