Morning Shoe Report: Ruby Slippers, Plus Stuart Weitzman Auction
Saturday, September 6…In a special weekend/Fashion Week edition, we bring your attention first and foremost to the gorgeous re-interpretations of Dorothy’s iconic ruby slippers by 19 prominent footwear designers - including Betsey Johnson, Christian Louboutin, and Alberta Ferretti, whose entry is shown at left. While we’ve seen lots of sketches, the shoes themselves went on display for the first time Thursday night, at a party held at Saks Fifth Avenue to mark the beginning of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
